Music, Art and Technology

As Boxedge, I firmly believe in the symbiosis between Art, Music, and Technology. This belief has been the cornerstone of my long-standing collaboration with the Italian contemporary artist known as PZ.

PZ, whose real name is Maddalena Grazzini, is not just a collaborator but an integral part of our creative process at Artebinaria Studios. She brings her expertise as an art historian and her role as the art director of Artebinaria Studios to our projects, enriching them with her unique visual perspective.

What fascinates me about working with PZ is her eclectic approach to visual arts. She seamlessly moves between various expressive codes and languages, from traditional painting to cutting-edge digital graphics. Her versatility extends to designing immersive video-mapping performances and curating Augmented Reality art exhibitions, which perfectly aligns with our vision at Artebinaria of pushing the boundaries between different art forms and technology.

Our collaboration has evolved over the years, becoming a true fusion of our respective artistic visions. Together, we strive to create experiences that transcend the conventional boundaries of music and visual arts, leveraging technology to explore new realms of artistic expression.

Working with PZ has not only enhanced the visual aspect of my musical projects but has also opened up new avenues for creative exploration. Her artistic input has been invaluable in shaping the aesthetic direction of Artebinaria Studios, ensuring that our work remains at the forefront of the intersection between art, music, and technology.

PZ.Space

The collaboration between Boxedge and PZ.Artist began with the exhibition of artwork by PZ. Artist accompanied by Boxedge’s original music.

The PZ.Space album was Boxedge’s first album inspired by the paintings of PZ.Artist.

With the tracks from PZ.Space the performance PZ.Projection Mapping was created, and performed in several contemporary art galleries, in Florence.

Video Mapping Projects

Later, other video-mapping projects came to life: PZ.Artist designed the visual component, and Boxedge produced the soundtrack.

In 2017, they received an award at the Florence Biennale with the performance ‘Electros‘: the dialogue and synthesis between the coldness of electronics, which refers to technology and thus to the future, and the feminine sensuality that instead evokes an original state of nature.

Many tracks of Boxedge are accompanied by a cover image by PZ.Artist: original paintings, or original digital artworks.
